Hospital of the Milagros

Description

The Hospital de los Milagros, also known as the little hospital, is located in Calle López de Ayala. This building has a doorway dating from the early 16th century and consists of a bell-shaped arch with decorated archivolts and a niche above the alfiz that frames it. It is conjectured that it may have been founded at the end of the 15th century. It was still in use at the end of the 18th century. The so-called School of Christ was established here and also housed the Brotherhood of the Veracruz. Its façade was remodelled in 2008 by an employment workshop, revealing its original stonework.
