The Three Wise Men Parade is a parade of floats typical in the cities of Spain and Andorra, in Gibraltar and, to a lesser extent, in Czech, Polish and Mexican towns and in the Portuguese town of Monção, in which the Three Wise Men (Melchior, Gaspar and Balthazar) and their pages and helpers throw sweets and treats to children on the eve of the feast of the Epiphany.
The first documented trace of the origin of the Three Kings Day parade dates back to 1866 in Alcoy (Alicante).
Adoration of the Three Wise Men in Alcoy.
The parades are held every 5th January in the afternoon or at dusk, following the tradition, before the Three Wise Men leave the presents in the houses during the night.
