Maratón Capitana is a mountain bike race held in Guadalcanal, within the Natural Park of the Sierra Norte de Sevilla, but also runs through Extremadura (Badajoz).
It is a race that has been growing year after year, starting in 2010 with 450 participants and being a non-competitive event. Currently it is not only competitive but it has also formed part of the Andalusian Marathon Open on two occasions, with more than 800 runners as the quota is fixed at that amount. It also belongs to the provincial circuit of Seville.
For this new year 2017 we have some news, the race is included in the pre-calendar of the Spanish Cycling Federation as Open de España BTT XCm, pending confirmation from them.
