The Guadalcanal Fair, which we now celebrate in the last week of August each year, is the successor of the fair that used to be held in the Guaditoca hermitage at Pentecost. After many years, it was moved to Guadalcanal, where it was installed in the Plaza de España and the surrounding area.
On 3 September 1900, the fair was moved to the Paseo de El Coso, where it remains. At the beginning, this festival was held every year on the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th of September. After the emigration of the local residents, the Town Council agreed to hold it in the last week of August.
The area of the bullring where it is held is embellished with the setting up of 15 private stands. There are also 4 permanent stands, 3 of which are private and 1 municipal. In most of these booths, orchestras perform and entertain the dancers during these days. Likewise, the place is decorated with lighting and with the installation of different attractions for children and adults.
In the mornings there are bicycle and horse races, sack races, pot competitions, swimming competitions, and during the day the fairground has the traditional horse ride. In the afternoons there are also football finals in the various categories.
On Saturday afternoon, the most important day of the fair, the Patron Saint of Guadalcanal, the Virgin Nuestra Señora de Guaditoca, is carried in procession to the fairgrounds for the enjoyment of all her children and devotees.
The Patron Saint is dressed as a queen, carried by her bearers and accompanied by the Band of Our Lady of Guaditoca.
The fair concludes on Sunday with a fireworks display.

This includes the ability to navigate the website using the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, operate dropdowns with the arrow keys, close them with Esc, trigger buttons and links using the Enter key, navigate between radio and checkbox elements using the arrow keys, and fill them in with the Spacebar or Enter key.Additionally, keyboard users will find quick-navigation and content-skip menus, available at any time by clicking Alt+1, or as the first elements of the site while navigating with the keyboard. The background process also handles triggered popups by moving the keyboard focus towards them as soon as they appear, and not allow the focus drift outside of it.
Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.
